Gikszer (2015)

angol After the first season, I was very satisfied and looked forward to the next one. I liked the theme, and although it was not exactly an action series, the story was fast-paced. However, with each new season, the quality of the screenplay decreased, and my satisfaction followed suit. From the beginning of the series, the writers posed a number of questions that I really wanted to know the answers to. It gradually dawned on me that the screenwriter couldn’t care less about answers. Everything was simply attributed to a higher power, be it the laws of the universe, nature or the bearded guy on a cloud. A disappointment. ()

Season 1 (2015) (S01)

angol I’m not going to say that the Australians surprised me because that would be a lie. They didn’t. I knew the series would be great because New Zealand and Australia have, in addition to excellent rugby players, high-quality filmmakers. I enjoyed this completely different take on zombies. At least I had someone to root for :-D ()

A Feltámadtak (2015) (S01E01)

angol I usually rate the opening episodes of series with three stars, as they are usually starting episodes (only introducing the viewer to the basic plot and characters), but here I added a little extra. It rarely happens that the creators don't depict the undead (zombies) as just dumb, slow brain-eaters, and I am grateful for every exception. However, I must admit that I was surprised by the Australian custom of burying the dead naked. Well, I understand it, I also find it unnecessarily expensive to dress the deceased in something from Armani, I just mean that this custom hasn't arrived here yet. ()

Pokolra jutottam? (2015) (S01E02)

angol After two episodes, I can't really say that the series is overflowing with action scenes, and yet I am enjoying it decently so far. I'm not particularly fond of Australians as a nation, they seem overly confident to me, but their movies and series usually score with me. I hope the quality will hold up. ()

Csoda vagy büntetés (2015) (S01E03)

angol In the description of the series, it says drama, but I always have a good laugh with Paddy Fitzgerald. Just like in the previous two episodes, nothing big happened this time either, and yet I wasn't bored. It's starting to get really weird that there might be some subliminal effect going on. ()

Nincs igazság (2015) (S01E04)

angol The story didn't really move forward in the fourth episode, but at least I had the opportunity to learn something more about the two most mysterious characters and Paddy could entertain me once again. I'm not a doctor, but if I were in Kirsten's place, I wouldn't have jumped into the lake with an inflamed foot. ()

Lehetetlen háromszög (2015) (S01E05)

angol Although it unexpectedly warmed up in the fifth episode, I didn't have a bigger problem with it, it was even funny for a moment. Paddy lightened everything up again and Vic's storyline gained momentum (in his case, this applies literally). James's expression during the exchange of views between his wives was priceless :-D ()

Kellenek szabályok (2015) (S01E06)

angol To all that, what worked for me in previous episodes, in the finale was added a missing more action-packed plot. Although the creators avoid answering questions like a Muslim pig, they tangled the situation even more with additional mysteries. Well, after that conclusion, I will definitely not miss the next season. ()

Season 2 (2017) (S02)

angol After feeling enthusiastic about the first season, the second one was a sobering experience. At times it felt like watching one of the weaker seasons of Walking Dead or Lost. The plot was terribly stretched out in places, someone was constantly looking for someone else, and there was hardly any actual development of the story. Although there were a few bright moments, I'm not looking forward to the third season very much. ()

Ritka madár (2017) (S02E01)

angol In the comments on the episodes of the first season, I praised the Australians quite a bit, but the first episode of the second season didn't convince me too much. The number of undead terminators is increasing too fast, the number of side characters (maybe important for the plot and maybe not) has also risen, but the story itself has basically stagnated. But at least I know that when an undead killer comes after me, it's time to prepare a hot drink. ()

Két igazság (2017) (S02E02)

angol Well, the quality went down compared to the previous season. It wasn't a whirlwind of action there either, but I still had a feeling that something was happening. The second episode did bring some potentially important matters, but the rest seemed like unnecessary filler that just prolongs the plot. ()

Túl emberi (2017) (S02E03)

angol For the first time this season, I had a feeling that something was happening. The creators, as usual, didn't answer any of the questions that arise during the show, but I was grateful to them for at least a few hints. I hope that this episode put the series on the right track. ()

Gondoskodás (2017) (S02E04)

angol After the previous episode, I had the impression that the series was starting to pick up pace again, but I was mistaken. The fourth episode quickly lost momentum in Kirsten's investigation, those conversations were unnecessarily lengthy, and even Paddy's storyline is not what it used to be. The only interesting thing happened right at the end. ()

Tátongó sebek (2017) (S02E05)

angol It's a shame that the creators didn't manage to successfully follow up on the first season, the penultimate episode brought a lot of conversations about nothing, the undead constantly walked away somewhere and had to be sought out, so I couldn't help but remember the TV show Walking Dead, where there was again too much aimless walking in the woods. ()

A levél (2017) (S02E06)

angol It's a shame that most episodes of the second season didn't turn out at least like this. Sure, there were plenty of flaws in the final episode (for example, James was able to quickly determine that the projectile was from a police weapon with just a glance), but as a whole, it worked well for me. I even learned something from some hints, which I didn't expect. ()

Season 3 (2019) (S03)

angol The third season only deepened my disappointment after the second season. The creators focused on new subplots made possible by adding new characters. The things I was interested in were pushed to the sidelines, so I finally realized that the writer bit off more than he could chew. ()

Anyu (2019) (S03E01)

angol The start of the third season was really bad. The creators are circling around essential information like a left paralyzed swimmer in a pool - no matter how much effort they make, the goal remains out of reach. New characters are added, the story gradually becomes tangled, but at the same time, it turns into something that starts to resemble a pile of excrement. ()

A lényeg (2019) (S03E02)

angol The second episode of the third season was slightly better than the opening episode after all. William's storyline took care of that, which finally brought a hint of something substantial again. However, I wasn't too interested in the events surrounding Kate, and I hardly wished for James' return. ()

Első alkalom (2019) (S03E03)

angol At first glance, it was a plot-heavy episode, in which there was no shortage of action, but... The problem was that less important issues of individual characters were being addressed, while the main storyline remained essentially sidelined. Well yeah, it was contracted for six episodes, so it has to be properly stretched out again. ()

Tökéletesen biztonságos (2019) (S03E04)

angol The fourth episode evoked similar feelings in me as the previous one, it all seemed like something was happening, but in the end, you realize that you didn't learn anything significant again. Moreover, I'm not too entertained by the Chinese guy, I don't particularly like those fake characters. 3* ()
