Based on the novel of the same name, the movie deals with an adulterous couple. In a small village in Kyrgyzstan, a married man, Januzak, and a girl named Munabia fall in love fatefully, and the predictable stories follow: the family breaks up, the family members suffer, and everybody blames the adulterers. One day, decades later, Januzak's eldest son receives a mysterious text and returns to the village to finish his father's affair. However, the interesting point is the attitude of the villagers, producing and consuming gossip endlessly. What is important to them is not the truth, but the fact that they are the main agents who consume the gossip. The movie depicts that the production and the consumption of the gossip as if consuming TV dramas, but the movie doesn't point out that the village has a credibility issue. The movie focuses on the poetic expression that wounded hearts and someone's legend resides in the mountain, in the field, in the river or in the sea, though the truth has evaporated (Busan International Film Festival)
