Az Ionescu házaspár az átlagos családok megszokott életét éli. Tudor egy telefontársaságnál dolgozik, felesége Cristina könyvelő. Boldogságban és harmóniában élnek a két gyerekükkel, az öt és fél esztendős Mariával és a hétéves Iliével. A harmincas éveikben járnak, és egy szép házban laknak az egyik romániai városban. Egyik vasárnap reggel azonban az életük váratlan fordulatot vesz: miközben Tudor elviszi a gyerekeket a parkba, Maria nyomtalanul eltűnik. (Cinemax)

A very difficult movie, which definitely isn’t for everyone. Quite the opposite. A blockbuster viewer, for example, would probably die of boredom because the endless shots could be easily shortened by an hour and the film wouldn’t have to be 152 minutes long at all. But on the other hand, it is in the long shots where the power lies and it turns the movie into a unique experience, which isn’t worth 5 stars in my books, but on the other hand, I don’t claim there’s nothing special about it. The character of the dad is, in the case of this movie, Oscar-worthy. The performance he gave is unparalleled in the movie industry.
