A ’90-es évek sikerfilmje volt Barry Sonnenfeld alkotása, a Szóljatok a köpcösnek! Több mint két évtizeddel később itt a tévés változat, ami igazából Elmore Leonard regényének újragondolása. A történet a régi, a nevadai bérgyilkos pályát módosítana, és talán nem is olyan meglepő módon a film világában szeretne boldogulni. Úgy tűnik, Rick, a ZS-filmek producerének személyében megfelelő társra talál. Ám nemcsak a showbiznisz labirintusában nehéz eligazodni, a régi haverokkal is akad kis probléma. (Cinemax)

Curtains (2018) (S02E08)

angol As we approach the end of the season with just two episodes left, the plot is ramping up. I can confidently say that I'm enjoying this season even more than the previous one. Tension is mounting on all fronts, the story is unfolding excellently, and the creators are keeping the humor alive. I had a great time watching this. If I ever needed an agent to represent me, Louis would be my top pick — articulate and convincing. And if I needed a bodyguard, Ed would be the clear choice. ()

Safe Space (2018) (S02E09)

angol This episode was quite eventful, even though the story's pace slowed down a bit. The creators decided to tug at my heartstrings, but thankfully they did it with subtlety, steering clear of melodrama. I have to confess, none of the criminals in this episode brought a tear to my eye — I'm not too fond of them. However, what I enjoyed was the contrasting dynamics between Miles and Rick. ()

Pickle (2018) (S02E10)

angol I wasn't thrilled with the finale of the first season, but the wrap-up of the second season was a different story altogether. It felt like everything you could hope for in sunny California was packed into this episode. We had a well-executed smuggling operation in and out of prison, a blockbuster movie in the making, and a warm welcome to new citizens. It was like a pleasant family affair, with a good pace, an intriguing plot, and characters that were far from virtuous. ()

Season 3 (2019) (S03)

angol Season 3 has decent quality, atmosphere, pace, and an eventful plot. It delivers a good dose of humor in addition to the inevitable violence, scheming, and intrigue. As far as I'm concerned, the creators certainly did a great job. It would be nice if every show in its first season achieved at least the quality that this one had in its third season. ()

What to Do When You Land (2019) (S03E01)

angol I gotta hand it to the creators. Not every show delivers such a high-quality episode to start off a third season. The pace wasn't as brisk as I remembered from the last season, but I anticipated that. Nevertheless, the plot was intriguing, and the humor mostly came from "Guatemala Rick" this time around, with Miles playing a more subdued role. While there wasn't any cooking happening, at least we had some amusing pissing contests, keeping us rooted in familiar territory. ()

Dark Roast, Oat Milk, Two Splendas (2019) (S03E02)

angol I'm neither excited nor disappointed. The series continues to be enjoyable for me, although I must say, the absence of criminals — be they organized or amateur — was noticeable. Instead, I found myself tangled in the web of various disruptors from the filmmaker community. While there's still plenty to watch, this element felt a bit weaker. However, the conclusion left me hopeful for better days ahead. 4*- ()

Strong Move (2019) (S03E03)

angol Okay, organized crime is making its way into the film industry again, but this time from a whole new angle. This shift led to bigger thrills in the third episode compared to the last one, and the return of some missing characters was a welcome surprise. Personally, I was thrilled by Ed's arrival; you can never have too much icy coolness. It was also amusing to learn the life lesson that it's not wise to anger someone armed with toast. 4*+ ()

What Else Did God Say? (2019) (S03E04)

angol I was quite pleased. Miles' plan finally started to take shape, at least in rough outlines, and there was another character return. Robinson Crusoe departed, and the tough guy Louis made a comeback. The pace is picking up, albeit in a milder manner than the previous two seasons. I'm beginning to feel quite disappointed that this season only has seven episodes. 4*- ()

The Stick (2019) (S03E05)

angol In my last review, I applauded how Miles' plan was unfolding, and then came the fifth episode, a real surprise. I found it amusing how the creators skillfully tapped into one of the current main trends without coming across as overly simplistic or silly, as often happens. This episode had an even bigger impact on me than the previous two, so I felt compelled to give it extra credit in my rating. ()

Tomorrow They Light Me on Fire (2019) (S03E06)

angol The creators made it clear that the series will conclude with the next episode which is quite saddening. The plot was packed with events, the atmosphere was captivating, and there was certainly no sign of the writer facing any creative block. I thoroughly enjoyed it once again, and I must commend the inclusion of something akin to the War of the Roses family saga, not to mention the fantastic performance of Leonardo DiCaprio off-camera. ()

Should Not Throw Stones (2019) (S03E07)

angol I was almost convinced that the creators had decided to wrap it all up neatly by the end of the third season. But now it seems like they just didn't get funding for another season (which is ironic in this case, considering Miles would've surely managed to keep it going), because they left the door wide open. Perhaps it's for the best though, because I'm getting tired of every series with a bad guy protagonist wrapping up with a fairytale ending, where evil is always duly punished. Reality is far from that, and filmmakers should take note. Well, it's not like they don't know, it's just that it might not sit well with the Disney-brainwashed viewers. ()
