Lorne, a wasteland traveller dealing with the oppressing boundaries of isolation, is confronted by a mysterious stranger. Lorne, realising the stranger isn't a threat, invites him into his camp. As he offers his hospitality, Lorne begins to feel at ease, the stranger becoming less of a danger and more of a familiar. Lorne begins to talk about himself and his story with the stranger listening attentively. The stranger catches a glimpse of Lorne's weapon, which has peaked the stranger's curiosity. Lorne catches the glance and offers to show his visitor his weapon, delving further into his past, beginning to talk about his father. A gunshot is heard in the distance, igniting Lorne's paranoia, leading him to question the stranger's intentions. Calming down, Lorne quickly gains his composure before settling back to his present company. Feeling a bit too comfortable, Lorne begins to talk about his family, reminiscent of them, but knowing they had to leave. A wave of nostalgia washes over him as he begins to pour out his heart and soul to the stranger, and with a few words from his silent visitor, Lorne knows what he must do to face his existential fears.
