Inspired by the cult comic series the "Digedags", Jörg Herold and Jörg Witte made a Super 8 film in late 1989 on the eternal dream of every GDR citizen, namely to travel. The Digedags travelled the world, as well as bearing witness to the more mundane aspects of everyday life such as the preparations for Leipzig's Christmas market, all the while sticking together, be it over a cup of hot chocolate or huddled around the TV screen.
