The American-Icelandic horror film Child Eater doesn’t try to take an outright new approach to horror, but rather it's a film that wants to scare you with what it depicts. I think it does a pretty good job of it to some extent. There are scenes that are very unpleasant to see, which was the main reason the film was made in the first place. In that case, the creators succeeded.
