A young Bulgarian woman digs out her dead granddad's secret police file to find answers to some questions about the past. What made a philosopher and former Orthodox priest turn into a socialist, fight against the Bolsheviks, and then work for the secret services? Why did he abandon his wife and five young kids and flee to the mountains armed with a rifle and a typewriter?
