John Huston and his contemplation of death at a time when he was preparing for eternity. No, he definitely didn't harm himself with this film; he was already on that pedestal long before. It's an interesting farewell, definitely not a bad film, but one that will captivate literature enthusiasts more than moviegoers. It's beautifully stylized, but it didn't impress me or resonate with me as much.
