The film follows the 6-years old Villads in school and at home. Villads often runs into trouble because he loves to play, but most of the rules of Villads´ games conflict with the rules of the adults'. This film is a modern version of Emil from Lønneberg. Children nowadays are becoming adults too early. Free play and the right to be a child have been replaced by long school days, results-oriented play and direct marketing. iPhones, hysterical Americanized movies, reality TV and social media make children more self-conscious in an all too young age. This film is a backlash against growing up too fast. A declaration of love for fantasy and play. Even though Villads also must learn the consequences of his playing, it is the adults in his world that learn the real lesson: to meet children on their terms. (Zlín Film Festival)
