A documentary that is a subsequent montage of authentic materials made in the turbulent years 1944 and 1945 by the filmmakers among the members of a left-wing resistance movement. One of its parts, shot directly on the spot, was directed by Visconti, while the second part was made under the supervision of Marcello Pagliero. (Summer Film School)
