Jake Witzenfeld's impressive documentary, filmed in the build up to the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict, follows a trio of young gay Palestinian men living in progressive Tel Aviv, as they confront their complicated national and sexual identities. Khader comes from a prominent muslim family, but lives with his Jewish boyfriend. Fadi, who left his parents to become a nurse, sees his nationalist pride challenged when he falls in love with "the enemy". Naeem identifies as Palestinian, vegetarian and feminist, but is terrified of coming out to his traditional family. The three friends, desperate for change, decide to form a cultural resistance group, in an attempt to articulate their unique personal and political struggles. (Febiofest)
