The recent West African Ebola epidemic claimed the highest number of victims in history. Like the epidemic, this film starts in Meliandou, a village in Guinea. It traces the impact of this deadly virus there and in the other afflicted countries: Liberia and Sierra Leone. Interviews with patients, village leaders, doctors and humanitarian workers show what fighting an epidemic is like, the various reactions and prejudices linked with infection, and stories of both courage and failure. Thanks to the cooperation of MSF, the film crew was able to film at the very epicentre of the outbreak and recorded the devastating consequences of the disease not only for individuals and their families but for society overall.
