David Simonnak, a Drót és a Treme szülőatyjának legújabb sorozata az amerikai pornóipar felemelkedését, tündöklését és hanyatlását meséli el a múlt század hetvenes éveinek elejétől kezdve a nyolcvanas évek közepéig. A pornó legalizálása után a New York-i Time Square lesz a pornóipar egyik fellegvára, ahol milliárdos üzlet hatására megjelenik a prostitúció, a drog, az AIDS és persze a maffia is. A virágzó üzlet élén Vincent és Frankie Martino áll, James Franco parádés kettős alakításában. (HBO Europe)

Season 3 (2019) (S03)

angol The authors of the series smoothed things over with me with the third season. While I had so many gripes with Season 2, there was nothing to complain about here (except for the fifth episode). Even viewers unfamiliar with the subject were clearly explained the difference between the seventies and eighties porn, the script offered insight into the life and past of the individual characters, and the death count was almost unexpected. The Camera Loves You (2019) (S03E01)

angol The start of the third season didn't disappoint. With another leap in time, we're thrust into the vibrant '80s, complete with all the nostalgia that era brings. It's a refreshing change, and I'm glad to see the return of the porn industry storyline, which was somewhat lacking in the second season. Overall, my impressions are positive, much like some of the characters themselves. ()

Morta di Fame (2019) (S03E02)

angol So far, I'm cautiously optimistic about the third season. After watching the first two episodes, I'm getting a better vibe compared to the previous seasons. It seems like the creators have handled the time shift much more effectively this time around. Unlike before, I don't feel like they're unsure about what they want to convey to the audience. ()

Normal Is a Lie (2019) (S03E03)

angol I usually prefer episodes packed with action, but the third one was a pleasant surprise. I found myself drawn into Lori's storyline, and surprisingly, Mr. Rose's plotline clicked with me as well. Overall, it was a great episode. ()

They Can Never Go Home (2019) (S03E04)

angol In the midst of a show centered around the adult entertainment industry, the creators threw in an episode solely dedicated to discussing porn movies. Surprisingly, I found myself thoroughly entertained. It looks like Lori has taken center stage in this series; she's been prominently featured in every episode thus far, undergoing what seems to be the most intriguing character development. ()

You Only Get One (2019) (S03E05)

angol The third season didn't quite hit the mark for me this time, and I've pinpointed why. Shay's exit felt almost seamless and understated, but Todd's drawn-out demise felt like it belonged in a whole different series. The endless sobbing around his bedside didn't resonate with me at all; instead, it just dragged down the story's momentum. 3*- ()

This Trust Thing (2019) (S03E06)

angol Once again, it felt more like a gangster saga than anything else, and the screenwriters have another notch on their belt. With the finale looming, it looks like there are more deaths in store. Nevertheless, the plot kept moving forward without a dull moment, and I found myself enjoying it, though I did miss Vincent's carefree twin a bit. ()

That's a Wrap (2019) (S03E07)

angol The death of a TV character typically doesn't hit me hard, but this time, it gave me pause. It was a stark contrast to Todd's prolonged demise in the fifth episode. I'd give the episode four stars, but that raw moment compelled me to add an extra star. ()

Finish It (2019) (S03E08)

angol The creators didn't rush the plot, considering jumping ahead forty years. I appreciated that. The old man's quiet stroll through New York at the end didn't feel overly dramatic; it was a fitting and decent conclusion to the entire series. ()
