Golden Kingdom

The poetic film is dominated by details of the everyday life of four young monks, but its regular rhythm is disturbed by external circumstances. These children are suddenly subjected to a challenge offered by the completely unexplored world behind the wall. Unrestrained natural laws of a magical forest enter the meditative life in a Buddhist monastery in a remote part of Northeast Burma. The film sensitively captures the meditative journey and paints a detailed portrait of the characters while attempting to illustrate their inner world. It also depicts the everyday reality of the life inside the monastery, which is surprisingly, not that different from the life in our society. (Febiofest)
