Neko nanka jondemo konai

A popular manga by Sugisaku is being made into a live action movie, starring Shunsuke Kazama. This touching tale of a young man and his cats, based on a true story, is popular with both male and female readers in Japan for its ability to give grown-ups the chance to have a good cry. Mitsuo, a down-and-out boxer with a preference for dogs, ends up looking after and living with two cats that his older brother rescues. Unexpectedly, these furry companions help to fill the emptiness in his life, caused by his failure to achieve his dream and his day-to-day loneliness, and he gradually comes to rethink his own way of living.
