Westworld

The first season really blew my mind. Each character seemed to live and die in their own storyline, until I suddenly realized that they lived and died in multiple storylines within the park and still get to experience the same in real life in the labs of society. Let me tell you it's a pretty depressing experience for artificial intelligence that is becoming self-aware. The whole season was quite strange. At times it was low-key fun, and at other times a drama of unsuspected depth. Except for a few weak moments, it was a great show. What an ending. (2017.01.24)

The first episode threw me right into the heart of the action, without me knowing what was happening. Fortunately, the plot began to unfold before I fell into a state of absolute confusion. I was surprised by the contrast between the calmness and sterile cleanliness of the laboratories, which is juxtaposed with the brutality and brain-shooting of the Wild West. As a whole, it creates a perfect effect. Sure, I know "Paint It Black," but I've never heard it instrumentally like this. (2017.01.22)

After the second episode, satisfaction still persists, the story is developing well, more and more questions arise, therefore more answers are still missing, but I suspect that I will soon get some. The behavior of the Westworld visitors strongly reminds me of the behavior of some visitors at the zoo, who bring fruit with razor blades and, when they can, throw stones at gorillas. (2017.01.22)

The third episode left me with an impression of being uneven. I was fully concentrated during the action scenes, but the rest of the plot somewhat dulled and slightly bored me. However, I don't mean to say that I didn't like this episode, it just seemed a tad weaker to me than the previous two episodes. (2017.01.22)

The third episode had, from my perspective, a few dull moments, but in the fourth one, I didn't come across any. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire episode; I started getting some answers to the pile of questions that the series has raised so far, and there was another great shootout with a brilliant musical accompaniment. The fifth episode is much more open, it is even so open that they saved quite a bit on costumes. The plot is becoming clearer as well as the thought processes of some of the robocitizens, I just hope that in future episodes the creators will focus more on developing the storyline rather than on nude scenes, I felt a bit like I was at an ornithologists' conference. I highly enjoyed the highly conspiratorial sixth episode, exactly the kind of plots I like, and the story spread out so much that all the characters and their stories won't fit into one episode anymore. Paranoia is nicely developing among the characters, who wouldn't be surprised by that, right? (2017.01.23)

The seventh episode was fantastic, this time it brought a lot of interesting answers and the plot twist caught me completely off guard. So I was prepared for a twist, but I expected it to be completely different, so I am gleefully laughing and praising! (2017.01.23)

The eighth episode is slightly weaker compared to the previous one, but I really enjoy the storyline around Maeve, so I'm fine with it. This episode clearly serves as the foundation for the big finale, so I hope that it will come, because if the creators let the ending fizzle out awkwardly, it would frustrate me. I suppose they wouldn't care though :). (2017.01.23)

The ninth episode is not bad at all, it answers a series of questions, some of which are really important, but at the same time, I feel like something is missing in it. It seems to me that I was expecting something more, so all I can do is wait for the final episode of the season. I believe that nothing will be missing in it anymore. (2017.01.23)

I was pleased with the conclusion of the first series, I was worried that the last episode would be too short or it would end with everyone being happy forever, but the episode was full of twists, the ending was excellent, and William finally met the mysterious Wyatt. (2017.01.24)

Compared to the first season, it was a disappointment. There were plenty of action scenes, but they often fell flat because they were written just for effect without any bearing on the story itself. The story, in turn, often drowned in deep philosophical thought, thus losing momentum. There was a significant decline in quality in comparison to the first season. (2018.09.26)

The first episode of the second season immediately managed to tune me to the right wavelength, successfully picking up where the action-packed finale of the previous season left off. Furthermore, William skillfully shook off the dead body and, with his characteristic empathy, returned to the story, which was clearly the best news. Without this antagonist, Westworld would be only half as good for me. (2018.09.23)

The second episode was mainly focused on the past, so I learned many interesting things about the beginnings of the park. The fact is that I enjoyed this excursion into the past more this time than the current events, which have lost a bit of their pace. William was an exception, I probably won't get tired of him. I rated an episode of Westworld with less than four stars for the first time, and this happened for two reasons. The first one was that the middle part of the episode was somewhat slow and even sleepy, and there was too much philosophy in it. The second reason is clear - the absence of Ed Harris. However, "Eastworld" and the battle for the fortress had the traditional quality. (2018.09.24)

For me personally, this time it was a big improvement in quality, whereas in the previous episode, existential thoughts didn't really catch me. Here, I really enjoyed the storyline with James Delos, Ed Harris had enough space, it had atmosphere and decent action, so I had a good time. (2018.09.24)

Another "eastworld" visit, I have already seen India, now I have also visited Japan, which I have a very positive attitude towards, even though it is Japan as seen by Americans... The events in "Shogunworld" entertained me more than the storyline of Dolores and Teddy, that one is slowly but surely starting to bore me. VendaCiki beat me to it, so I have to agree with him, that nonsense about the ears was really bizarre :-) (2018.09.24)

I gave it four stars even though I'm not really into Dolores' group's travels and Maeve is starting to get on my nerves with her imaginary daughter. Luckily, Ed Harris once again saved the day, William's daughter added some excitement to his storyline, and for once I'm interested in finding out what Bernard will come back with from the data stream. Hmmm, I would have expected to give a rating of five stars without compromise after such an action-packed episode, but that's not the case. Westworld does not have the same impact on me as it did in the first season, and even though all the action was well directed, I felt like it was just covering up the increasing flaws in the storyline. 4 stars. There has been a significant decrease in wild shooting, and if the entire episode were just telling an Indian story, I would gladly add a star, but unfortunately, the creators managed to ruin William's character, so even after several hits from half-inch projectiles, he looked like many of our folks after a long evening at the pub, and that was a bit too much for me.
