Takashi Hayama, an ordinary third-year high school student with his university exams up ahead of him, runs into a girl named Azusa Oribe. He falls in love with her at first sight, and takes her out on several dates. Eventually, she makes a strange confession. “Everyone that I meet forgets me a few hours later. For some reason I don't understand, I disappear from their memories.” Takashi finds it impossible to believe her ridiculous story, but later, he suddenly realizes that his recollections of Azusa are fading. “Who did I meet yesterday?” “Who am I supposed to be going on a date with today?” In a desperate attempt to prevent himself forgetting Azusa, Takashi begins to make detailed notes of their date plans and everything that happens when he is together with her. angol An ordinary story full of love, disappointment, and emptiness. Imagine that everyone around you has Alzheimer’s, and they don't remember you, just you. How would you feel, what would you do, how would you live your life, if in the context of human relationships you only have today? I have to commend the performances of Murakami and Hayami, Murakami in particular was very good and convincing, even though he didn't say anything you could read what was going on in his expression. A nice film full of pain but also joy and precious moments. I know a lot of people complain about the ending, but I thought it was neither open-ended nor underdeveloped – it was strong and made it clear how Azusa made her decision and how much Takashi loved her. A better 4 stars. ()
