Bette Davis was a fantastic actress, and she essentially stole this film for herself, although she still needed capable sidekicks who could keep up with her. And she got them here. It’s entertaining, and at times you feel like it's really going to turn into something grittier, but it still maintains that right level of slightly dangerous comedy.
