Renegade architect and ultimate survivalist Michael Reynolds doesn't just live off the grid, he builds off the grid, constructing totally self-sufficient houses he calls Earthships. Earthships are houses which survive with no electricity or water bills – ever. With a deadline of four weeks, a team of builders and 50 interns, he takes an open piece of land in Big Sky, Montana, and transforms it into a custom-built Earthship, battling Mother Nature all the way.
