George (Richard Gere) egy hajléktalan, mentálisan beteg ember, aki képtelen évekig egy munkahelyen dolgozni. A várost rója egész nap, munka, étel és alkohol után kutatva. Közben megpróbál elhidegült lányával (Jena Malone) is kapcsolatba kerülni. Végül George elfogadja a szociális segítséget, amelyet New York városa biztosítana számára. Without the acting performance that Richard Gere delivers here, I probably wouldn't give this movie any points. Richard Gere is incredible, and it's nice that someone looked at the life of a homeless person without embellishment, but this is such a boring story that otherwise didn't interest me at all, that I almost started despairing. Fortunately, it's over.
