A krimisorozatot Joel és Ethan Coen majd húsz esztendővel korábbi, két Oscar-díjas filmje inspirálta. Noah Hawley regényíró-író adaptációja teljesen új történet, új karakterekkel, ám mindaz megtalálható benne, ami a filmet oly sikeressé, sőt klasszikussá tette: a morbid, fekete humor, a gyilkosság és a „Minnesota jó hely”-érzés. Az első évad Molly Solverson (Allison Tolman) és Gus Grimly (Colin Hanks) helyettesekre összpontosít, akik a kisvárosban történt hármas gyilkosság ügyében nyomoznak. (HBO Europe)

The Castle (2015) (S02E09)

angol Finally, it was revealed what the whole Sioux Falls massacre talk in the first season was about. This was a fantastic episode with an outstanding atmosphere, filled with brutal action, tension, and intriguing developments. My only gripe — aliens? Why? The Blumquists are more than enough for me. ()

Palindrome (2015) (S02E10)

angol The finale was well done, but I'm giving it four stars. After the fast-paced previous two episodes, this one felt a bit slow. Nonetheless, it was a solid and fitting end to the second season. I enjoyed Mike Milligan's reward and the introduction of Mr. Wrench and Mr. Numbers. ()

Season 3 (2017) (S03)

angol Season 3 brought excellent characters played by David Thewlis, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Goran Bogdan as well as a well-developed story, but the finale was a little underwhelming. The final episodes of both previous seasons left a much deeper impression on me. Then again, I appreciate the return of Mr. Wrench. I consider Season 3 to be the weakest one, it seemed to be based too much on the first season, sometimes to the point of copying it. But despite all my reservations, I did like it and had fun. ()

Law of Vacant Places (2017) (S03E01)

angol I  had to give this episode five stars. It immediately pulled me in with its blend of random events and pervasive stupidity. Plus, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in it, and that was a delightful surprise. ()

Principle of Restricted Choice (2017) (S03E02)

angol This episode wasn't as action-packed, so the pace was slower, but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. V. M. Varga is a mysterious character, and David Thewlis gives him a wonderfully slimy nastiness — those teeth might just give me nightmares. And the donkey scene was priceless. ()

The Narrow Escape Problem (2017) (S03E04)

angol Great music and another brilliant plan from Nikki and Ray. Ray didn’t even need to taste the ashes for me to see who’s the brains and who’s the brawn in this duo. A nice change of pace from the last episode — I wasn't bored for a second. ()

The House of Special Purpose (2017) (S03E05)

angol *Nikki and Ray came up with another "perfect" plan, slightly "better" than the last one. Sy had a bunch of new experiences, and the plot was really entertaining. V. M. Varga is completely unhinged, and his Cossack has some interesting philosophies. Who would've thought? I just didn’t quite get the ending — I was expecting a more definitive resolution. ()

The Lord of No Mercy (2017) (S03E06)

angol This episode was top-notch. The plot is picking up speed on all fronts, racing toward the expected conclusion. Even though it’s clear that Fargo will end in a traditional bloodbath, I’m as excited as a kid to see exactly how the creators pull it off. ()

Aporia (2017) (S03E09)

angol And we’re back to a slower pace, creating a sine wave of "good" and "excellent" episodes. Given this pattern, I’m expecting the finale to be outstanding. I’ll be seriously disappointed if it’s not. ()

Somebody to Love (2017) (S03E10)

angol The finale wasn’t as thrilling as I hoped. The creators played it too safe this time, and I was spoiled by the previous seasons, so I’m left a bit disappointed. The ending also fell flat for me. ()

Season 4 (2020) (S04)

angol I'm severely disappointed by this season. For me, Fargo is a series in which graphic violence alternates with black humor, and I also expect suspense and great atmosphere. The 50s atmosphere was decent, but I didn't feel any suspense, this season was surprisingly stingy with the violence and there was so little humor that I almost didn't notice any. I don't need to be lectured on how the only true "Americans" treat everyone else, so I wasn’t too big on the constant BLM propaganda either. ()

Welcome to the Alternate Economy (2020) (S04E01)

angol Well, it seems not even the series I was eagerly anticipating for its continuation has avoided succumbing to the current trend of pandering to BLM, cleverly cloaking it in a 1950s ambiance. ()

The Land of Talking and Killing (2020) (S04E02)

angol So far, I haven't seen anything that even comes close to the quality of previous seasons. It feels like the creators were so caught up in addressing racial issues that they neglected the traditional dark humor and action-packed chaos that made the show so distinctive. ()

Raddoppiarlo (2020) (S04E03)

angol While the Mormon persecutor chasing escaped prisoners brought back the quirky vibes of previous seasons, Gaetano Salvatore Espozita dragged it down with his expression straight out of a silent movie. With his semi-crazy look and rolling eyes, he could easily fit into that era. ()

The Pretend War (2020) (S04E04)

angol This was a pleasant surprise for me. The episode had shades of the captivating storytelling that hooked me in previous seasons, though it didn't quite reach those heights yet. However, Gaetano's character still feels a bit like a caricature to me, stuck somewhere between a mafia wannabe and Uncle Fester, and I doubt it'll change. ()

The Birthplace of Civilization (2020) (S04E05)

angol Just when I thought we were on the right track after the last episode, we're back to just three measly stars. The creators dedicated a lot of screen time to a character I could've done without, making me consider rating it even lower. However, the storyline involving the lesbian duo saved the day. 3*- ()

Camp Elegance (2020) (S04E06)

angol I feel betrayed. I eagerly anticipated a return to the essence of what makes Fargo unique, but alas, it turned out to be a clever ruse. While I got lectured a lot on racial discrimination, I was missing a captivating plot, atmosphere, and suspense. ()

Lay Away (2020) (S04E07)

angol The seventh episode didn't quite leave a lasting impression on me. While there were a few intriguing moments scattered throughout, overall, it felt pretty average. That said, it didn't annoy me either, so I guess it's good enough for three stars. Still, by Fargo standards, it falls a bit short. ()

The Nadir (2020) (S04E08)

angol The eighth episode had its moments, and under different circumstances, I might have even called it one of the better ones. But then came the two shootouts... The one with the Italians was downright silly (submachine guns against pistols/revolvers in an open space), and the train station scene might have been intriguing if I hadn't been distracted by Otis's struggles to get out of the car instead. ()

East/West (2020) (S04E09)

angol There's no doubt that this episode had artistic value. I can tell because it was black and white. However, once I peeled back the artistic layers, the story didn't do much for me. Sure, the events at the guesthouse provided some entertainment, but they seemed disconnected from the season's overarching narrative. It felt like a detour from the main plot. And the tornado? Oh well... ()
