Gerontophilia

A handsome 18-year old boy, Lake, hides an attraction to elderly men. When his mum gets him a summer job at an old people's home, he discovers that the patients are being sedated with psychotropic drugs. Lake befriends a charming old man, Mr. Peabody, and secretly weans him off his medication, eventually helping him to escape. Together they embark on a road trip as their friendship develops into something deeper. Canadian provocateur Bruce La Bruce’s movie is an unusual story beaming with romantic melodrama, humor and genuine warmth. With its handsome acting, catchy electro-pop tunes and atmospheric slow motion shots, the film has an enjoyable feel, yet it continues to challenge societal taboos. (Febiofest)
