Figs

Two men are apparently fighting and we hear a voice describing what turns out to be a sexual encounter. This isn’t about romance, it’s more a sober allegory of cohabitation in meltdown. The film is completely open in its approach to sexuality, but it certainly doesn’t aim for an appealing style. Aided by an unsettling soundtrack, Figs suggests that the excitement has gone for both men, leaving depression in its wake. Despite its brevity, the film gives viewers enough space to reflect and instead of offering a clear solution it leaves them with unanswered questions. (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival)
