This documentary is considered the very first to be filmed during the Spanish Civil War. It was shot on the streets of Barcelona between June 9 and 24, 1936, and produced by the then-recently created Oficina de Información y Propaganda (Office of Information and Propaganda) of the Confederación Nacional de Trabajo (National Confederation of Labor). It was directed by journalist and film critic Mateo Santos, director of the magazine Film Popular; he also provided the commentary. (Morelia International Film Festival)
