Čtvrtá hvězda

For me personally, The Fourth Star is the best Czech/Czechoslovak comedy series. The quality writing and directing are supported by probably the best possible cast, there's sophisticated humor. I would have loved to highlight individual actors, but everybody at the Dejvice Theatre brought out the best in themselves, so my praise goes to everyone without exception. I had a great time. The first episode had a slower start, but I take it as its main purpose was to introduce us to the hotel and its staff. It didn't bring a storm of humor, but the cast couldn't have been better, so I see hope for great entertainment in the next episodes. Therefore, my rating is mainly a sign of trust. (2017.05.03)

The series did not disappoint my trust. The second episode got me, if a wheelchair user gets into an elevator that refuses to start without the person jumping in it, there must logically be entertainment provided. The whole cast of actors amuses me with their performances, Ivan Trojan's messy hairstyle is a case in itself. I can hardly imagine a better farewell with Jan Kašpar. (2017.05.03)

I don't know a bigger scoundrel than František Koláček, but on the other hand, I have to admit that he is fair, like death, he will steal from anyone without distinction if it brings him profit. His deaf accomplice, Vladimír Major, is great and very efficient, thanks to his straightforwardness. The episode also provides an insight into the difficult life of a hotel maintenance worker and a local outsider, and it entertained me nicely. (2017.05.03)

This time I wasn't satisfied as I was with the previous episodes, although I quite enjoyed the tour of the hotel kitchen, it lacked a bit of excitement. The previous episodes were entertaining with occasional dull moments, this one was rather unremarkable with occasional bright moments. (2017.05.03)

The internal struggle of the maintenance worker David with himself could successfully compete with Shakespeare's Hamlet and his famous quote: "To be or not to be?". I really enjoyed myself and Uran reminded me that I should always have some milk and iodine at home, just in case. (2017.05.03)

Well, what's up? Tereza can blame herself for it, Smutný clearly informed her that the cheese had already matured for too long. The porn scene between Lenka Krobotová and Ivan Trojan tore me apart and brought excellent advice to potential amateur filmmakers to stay focused on what really matters under all circumstances, because otherwise, they'll be lost. Spartan David didn't quite pass with dignity in front of the fans of Celtic Glasgow, especially the scene where he gets his jersey back almost brought me to tears. With this work, the series had to win over a whole range of fans in the steel heart of the republic, that is if they understood it... (2017.05.03)

When I scream with laughter at some episodes, I know that I like it. Libuška has a number of costumes in her wardrobe for almost every occasion, but a second-hand shop is a second-hand shop, the train does not go across it. František's plan seemed brilliant, but that ungrateful deaf woman refuses to lend him Major, besides Tichý has his suspicions... (2017.05.03)

Tereza doesn't have it easy, she wants to earn the fourth star and dead bodies are being delivered to her through the hotel dining room. The most amusing part of the whole episode was František, whose friend's death turned him to religion, and Pavlínka, who was led astray by excessive alcohol, even though her David is such a romantic soul. David and Jindřich completely dominated the tenth episode. The former, an alpha male and protector of the pack, toughened in a Spartan cauldron, while the latter, a sensitive taxi driver, despite his noticeable makeup and love for pink, is definitely not gay. David was absolutely outstanding, and even Otto, a devoted follower of Friedrich Nietzsche, could envy his life philosophy. (2017.05.03)

Head Chef Tichý regained his taste and function, and his self-confidence grew enough for him to be able to communicate even with a Martian, so a Chinese person cannot be a problem for him. There was also a brutal female duel with an unusual outcome, and František can get absolutely everything. Fantastic! (2017.05.03)

Excellent ending to the entire series. There was an intense tennis match that almost ended with David's emotional figure from Paso Doble; his subsequent wheelchair attack almost cost me my jaw. Říďa easily defeated his Thirteen Orphans, which did justice and Tereza's transformation was perfect. (2017.05.03)
