Ruta de la luna

Tito's father, the ex-coach of boxing champions, has heart problems, but he isn't willing to admit the severity of his condition. He decides to join his son and travel a thousand kilometers to a bowling tournament. Their past disagreements are gradually unveiled, together with the father's machismo and inability to support his own son. A young girl, Yadia, joins them, soon senses the tension and tries to defuse the situation. However, when the father and the son start to compete for the girl's affection, their conflict deepens. The picture's stylistic simplicity emphasizes the story which focuses on an analysis of the son-father relationship. Despite the road-movie genre, the film prefers a careful composition of static shots instead of dynamic camera movements. (Febiofest)
