The main character lives in a Siberian village in the middle of nowhere. In the cycle of everyday toil he talks about his existence and the lives of his close ones. Seventy-one-year-old Yuri Petrovich has his own original way of interpreting the Bible and gets emotional about the selfishness of the new people in power. He expresses his contention that he doesn't have to serve anyone. He lets the filmmakers in on his own self-sufficiency that stems from his conviction that the land can feed a man... This visually impressive documentary framed with shots of wild nature grows into a celebration of diligence, humility and natural faith. It also takes us into the community of old-believers who live in the neighbourhood.
Titulní hrdina bydlí v zapadlé sibiřské vesnici a v koloběhu dennodenního plahočení vypráví o vlastní existenci i životech svých bližních.
