Basri, a 55-year-old widower, walks miles a day to inspect old railway tracks. His wandering thoughts always come back to his son, who was imprisoned as a student 18 years ago for alleged anti-government activities. No one has seen him since… “By writing this script, I wanted to appease my conscience and to turn the tragedies of the lost people to a communal pressure of conscience. During this script, within 7 years, I got impressed by two things. The first one are the stories of remaining and devastated families without doubt. The second one is Dostoyevsky, who skillfully describes the carelessness, loneliness, neurosis, guilt, moodiness, deadlocks and mostly human conscience in all of his works. For
this reason my lead character Basri gets into a tight corner like almost all characters of Dostoyevsky while searching for a hope in his life. The darkness of the atmosphere becomes the epitome of the character and hope slowly goes away from my character.” (Director Ali Aydin) (Art Film Fest)
