A quanta of similar cabaret performances at the expense of any story. No, that's not it. French comedy cinema in 1954 was simply waiting for its most famous era - just like Louis de Funès. If I had to watch something from French Peek-a-Boo again, it would probably be the beach dressing room scene, otherwise nothing. Apparently it was much, much better in the theatre.
