Le Grand Soir

Jean-Pierre (Albert Dupontel) loses his job as a shop assistant in a mattress shop, and his marriage is falling apart. Severely depressed and full of suicidal intentions, he meets his eccentric brother, Not (Benoît Poelvoorde), who has professed punk all his life, and who keeps protesting against the system. Together, they initiate a revolt in their favourite area of a shopping mall, and eventually even outside, but then they learn about an unexpected event. This urgent, yet light film was made by the successful directing duo, Benoît Delépine and Gustave de Kervern (guests of Febiofest 2009), and it won the Special Jury Prize at IFF Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section.
