The life of Badia and Imane, two young Moroccan girls of around age 20, is completely boring and with almost no future. Each day, they form part of the workers that flood the streets of Tanger, nevertheless instead of having well-paid jobs they must tolerate the routine labor of cleaning and bottling shrimp. Badia knows that if she doesn’t act fast her life will end up stinking like the fish she works with. She dreams of finding a job in the free zone of Tanger and in consequence acquire better economic status. Yet her goal seems so hard to get, so she convinces Imane to go with her to Casablanca after work and earn some extra cash. In the most chic and touristy zone of the city, the girls delve into a life of petty crime involving tourists who often mistake them for prostitutes. (Morelia International Film Festival)
