Garin Nugroho's latest film discusses the problem of religious radicalism in Indonesia, which predominantly involves the young generation. The Indonesian Islamic State (NII) organization successfully recruits young people who have no perspective on life and are in need of some direction in their own lives. The picture illustrates this problem on the fate of three people who are afflicted in very different ways: Rima, a recruit of the NII, Asimah whose daughter was kidnapped, and Jabir who joins NII to suppress his frustrations.
