Los pasos dobles

The multi-faceted story is loosely inspired by literary works of an American writer, François Augiéras, who spent most of his life in North Africa, which is also the setting of his novels. For the purposes of the film, the writer is represented by his alter ego, a black painter named Abdallah Chambaa. We follow the young man’s military training, an episode where he joins bandits in the desert, as well as his artistic attempts that should culminate in painting a cave in the desert. (Febiofest)
