A quite interesting story, but the historical depiction just didn't sit well with me, even though I assume it's according to the source material, and overall the attempt at artistry, which now seems to me as just self-serving in many films. Slow, drawn-out shots trying to convey something, but in reality, they are quite distant from achieving that.

The French film Marguerite & Julien tells the tragic story of the forbidden incestuous love between a sister and a brother. I have no problem with the subject matter in principle, I'm just sorry that the whole concept (including the acting) comes across as a bit cold. In short, this movie does not convey any strong emotion to the audience. (60%)
