FilmRITUAL has been called a successor to Buñuel’s Land Without Bread. It looks at the traditions associated with death and suffering, and offers a metaphor for society’s moral decay under Franco. In its search for the essence of history, even at the risk of showing unpleasant truths, this film offers one of the “most faithful” portraits of Spain.
