Sherlock (2010)

angol What a shame that the series did not end after Season 2, in which case I would have given it five stars. I liked the first two seasons a lot. I was greatly entertained by the story of Sherlock Holmes set in the modern world. However, the quality of Season 3 dropped down to mediocre and Season 4 was just a desperate attempt to make something out of nothing. ()

Season 1 (2010) (S01)

angol I found Season 1 really enjoyable. It made it clear that Sherlock is no James Bond. The moment the creators switched to a more action-packed mode in the second episode, the magic stopped working and the quality went down. The very next episode that went on at a much calmer pace was actually the best of this season. A good dose of deduction and dry humor worked much better for me than the frantically kicking members of the Chinese mafia. ()

Rózsaszín tanulmány (2010) (S01E01)

angol After a long time, I decided to watch Sherlock again and I don't regret it at all. This time, of course, I knew what I was getting into, but the idea of setting the story in the present again got me excited. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were absolutely fantastic, there was plenty of action, and the suspense was mixed perfectly with the typical English humor. I couldn't help but enjoy myself. ()

A vak bankár (2010) (S01E02)

angol I was basically happy with the second episode of the first season, although I have a few remarks about it. I would be fine with it if the creators were more sparing with the action, because some scenes seemed completely unnecessary to me. I would even skip the terribly overengineered execution by some kind of mini-ballista (or giant crossbow), but I would add Mycroft, he was missing here. ()

A nagy játszma (2010) (S01E03)

angol I couldn't rate the third episode anything other than five stars because it had everything that was missing from the previous episode. Fortunately, the creators abandoned the excessive executions with the help of ancient or medieval siege engines and significantly reduced the wild action, which allowed for powerful deduction, dry humor, and finally gave space to the main antagonist. ()

Season 2 (2012) (S02)

angol The second episode stood out like a sore thumb between the two excellent ones. It just felt somewhat out of place. I just don’t get it, it seemed as if the creators inhaled something, too, which made them lose focus. Fortunately, I had nothing to complain about in the opening and closing episodes, both were a pleasure to watch, and Season 2 turned out well as a whole (though it could have been better...). ()

Botrány Belgráviában (2012) (S02E01)

angol The first episode of the second series was very well done by the creators. I couldn't find any flaws in the story (in fact, I didn't even feel like looking for any), the atmosphere was great, Sherlock, John, and unexpectedly even Mrs. Hudson contributed significantly to the fast pace, and they definitely didn't miss with the character of Irene Adler. In addition to all of that, they added a good portion of humor, securing my satisfaction. ()

A sátán kutyái (2012) (S02E02)

angol Unlike the previous part, the second episode disappointed me. The creators evidently tried to create a horror atmosphere, but for me, they didn't succeed too well. The whole story felt too constructed, it even bored me at times, and I simply expected more. ()

A Reichenbach-vízesés (2012) (S02E03)

angol I have watched the final episode of the second series, and it has confirmed to me clearly that the "Baskerville" episode was an unfortunate digression, unnecessarily spoiling the first and third parts. Jim Moriarty really let loose this time, shuffled the cards, and the creators seized a great opportunity to inject the necessary pace and atmosphere into the story, adding humor and tension as well, and the result was clearly outstanding. ()

Season 3 (2014) (S03)

angol I wasn’t very pleased with the third season of Sherlock. It struggled to pick up momentum, and I felt like the creators had been slacking off for two years. I can’t praise them for the lousy job they did. The two previous seasons were far more convincing. Season 3 seemed farfetched. Overelaborate plots were solved in even more elaborate ways, Mary Watson's dark past felt terribly forced, so I was grateful for that little bit of a Christmas atmosphere at the Holmes'. ()

Az üres gyász (2014) (S03E01)

angol While watching the first episode of the third season, I had an incessant feeling that the creators were pushing too hard. According to viewers' responses, the humor was well received, so they definitely didn't hold back, which was a bit of a shame. I had the impression that I was watching a comedy lightly seasoned with detective work, the repeated convoluted explanations of Sherlock's immortality annoyed me, and I think Mark Gatiss is lucky that Annie Wilkes is just a fictional character. ()

A hármak jele (2014) (S03E02)

angol Each season of the Sherlock series had the weakest middle part, and I hope it's true this time as well, and the final episode of the third season will improve my mood again. Organized wedding celebrations always annoyed me (both in movies and in real life), it all seemed so uneventful and tedious to me, and besides, I suspect that I wouldn't even feel it if someone stabbed me in the back (well, sometime in the past, today you could cut off my hand with an axe and I wouldn't notice until I reach for the XBOX controller). ()

Az utolsó alakítás (2014) (S03E03)

angol The plot of the third episode seemed a bit overcomplicated to me, but still, it was the best episode of the third season. However, I still feel like I may have overrated this part a little because some of the creators' ideas bothered me, and at times it seemed like they were just grasping at straws. 4* ()

Season 4 (2017) (S04)

angol In Season 4, I fully appreciated the fact that there were only three episodes per season. Still, I wished the individual episodes had been at least slightly shorter. While Season 3 got out of the creators’ hands, Season 4 was totally off the rails. The writers were obviously clueless, letting skeletons jump out of closets, or introducing completely new but key characters, which was rather cheap. If I were one of the screenwriters for the last three episodes, I would probably feel an intense itching around my ankles, and if a woman told me she was my number one fan, I would immediately pass out. ()

A hat Thatcher (2017) (S04E01)

angol The first episode of the fourth season was a great example of how to turn a great series into a ridiculous farce. The idea with Mary Bond-Watson didn't work for me anymore at the end of the third season, this time it smelled like a disaster, and I eventually got what I expected. I won't get rid of that stupidity with the aquarium for a long time. 2* ()

A hazug detektív (2017) (S04E02)

angol I really don't like such hallucinogenic scenes, I don't enjoy them in movies, series, or games (although I do really like Far Cry), but the biggest disappointment was prepared for me by Marty Hopkirk. I thought that when creators want to kill off a character, they would completely disappear from the story, but no. He appears more often in the picture, a plot is created around him, which is so far-fetched that it's pulling the eyes out of their sockets, and stupidity triumphs over intelligence and cunning. ()

A végső probléma (2017) (S04E03)

angol No, I would say that the final episode was the best of the fourth season. However, I couldn't give it more than two stars, which is a shame. The episode did have an interesting storyline in a way, but I can't help feeling that the creators stole from the Saw series. The character Bůh východního větru (God of the East Wind) was added to the plot just for the sake of having something to talk about, and so on. ()
