(FOX)

Eskü (2016) (S07E06)

angol When it rains, it pours! The previous episode was full of inconsistencies, and this one was dull from start to finish. Tara's character resurfaced, but I didn’t miss her at all — her storyline was completely uninteresting. This episode felt like a textbook example of the creators stretching the plot to meet the sixteen-episode requirement. It’s hard to believe how much this show has changed from its captivating first season. ()

Énekelj nekem! (2016) (S07E07)

angol If anyone's still unsure about the biggest evil in the series, I've known for a long time. It's Rick's teenage brat, Carl. Every time he's on screen, my annoyance levels spike. If I had the chance, I'd kill him off very slowly, but not before making him eat that stupid hat! ()

Dobogó szívek (2016) (S07E08)

angol What I feared has come true. Negan’s character desperately lacks development, making his behavior incredibly stereotypical and predictable. It's a shame because I hoped Negan would add the much-needed excitement to the story. On the bright side, Daryl impressed me by showing that even in the midst of killing people, you can find Jesus. ()

Szikla az útban (2017) (S07E09)

angol I would have given this episode four stars, but... The creators figured out long ago that they couldn't build multiple seasons solely on shuffling zombies. As a result, Rick and company face numerous other challenges. By the seventh season, the undead are just a regular backdrop, barely appearing at all. Yet, when Rick dismantles a barricade, suddenly there's a herd just like in the first season. Hmm, and we’re back to three stars. ()

Új puszipajtások (2017) (S07E10)

angol I honestly wonder if the writers even read their own scripts. If they do, they must have memory issues because they seem to forget what they have written. For several seasons now, it’s been established that resources are dwindling, which makes sense. So how can such a large group, like the one from the junkyard, survive in an area already scoured by Negan, the Alexandrians, the Hilltop people, and the Kingdom? Plus, I’ve never seen anyone encounter a single member of this junkyard community before. And Rick’s arena fight? Why? It reminded me of Gwen DeMarco from Galaxy Quest desperately asking why there are crushers on the spaceship. That's just the way it is. ()

Ellenségek és más csapások (2017) (S07E11)

angol What a borefest this episode was. I can't learn anything new about Eugene that I haven't already figured out, so being reintroduced to all his "interesting" quirks in Episode 11 was a real letdown. When it comes to mumbling and uncoordinated movements, the creators should really stick with the undead extras. ()

Mondj igent (2017) (S07E12)

angol I added an extra star simply because Eugene wasn't in this episode, but I couldn't go any higher. The story didn't really progress; after the complicated weapon scavenging, we're back to square one. Once again, the creators ignored their own rules. The undead chase a car with the engine off while ignoring gunfire. I get it—anything for tension. Yeah, I nearly bit my nails off. ()

Ide temessetek! (2017) (S07E13)

angol A surprisingly decent episode in spite of revolving around melons. The initial drama with the weevils was pretty unsettling, and if Morgan and Carol's long-winded conversations hadn't slowed things down, I might have given it a higher rating. ()

Túloldal (2017) (S07E14)

angol Well, this episode felt like empty filler. The creators served up a barely digestible stew of dumb decisions and characters acting all weird, while trying to tug at the viewers' heartstrings. I gave it a star solely for Simon whose face said it all. ()

Amire szükségük van (2017) (S07E15)

angol Here’s the deal: this episode would’ve been a solid average for me under normal circumstances. But the script just keeps contradicting itself. Remember the dramatic ordeal the Alexandrians went through to get those explosives? You'd think they'd save them for a significant target, but no! They use them like a SWAT team uses flashbangs. And to top it off, they waste a ton of scarce ammo on the undead. Come on, Rick. You get two stars for this one. ()

Hátralévő életed (2017) (S07E16)

angol Despite the drawn-out scenes with Sasha, I ended up rating this episode above average. It wasn’t the digital Shiva, trying hard to convince me with every pixel that it was actually mauling people, that swayed my decision. The credit goes to our heroic leader Rick, who amusingly armed his own version of Al-Qaeda, following in the footsteps of the U.S. government. That bit really got me. ()

Season 8 (2017) (S08)

angol Season 8 managed to surpass even the terrible Season 7 with how boring and annoying it was. The creators of the series are obviously clueless, so most of the runtime was taken up by incredibly silly dialogue and speechifying, in which the speakers made the mistake of not painting half their face blue, riding a horse and waving a two-handed sword around. Once again, the creators decided to go for melodramatic scenes and Gabriel's religious claptrap, while the story was stalling and lacking in logic and the only charismatic bad guy turned into a caricature of himself. ()

Irgalom (2017) (S08E01)

angol It seems like this episode is targeting viewers who are not quite as sharp, because the plot lacked logic. Alternatively, maybe I missed the memo that Negan has an allergy to drafts, which Rick knows (probably from Dwight), so he breaks all the windows to force him out of his fortress. Naturally, we also get the obligatory motivational speeches and close-ups of Rick’s bloodshot eyes for the connoisseurs. ()

Kárhozottak (2017) (S08E02)

angol I got really anxious when I realized I must have missed an episode where Rick set up a munitions factory in Alexandria. Turns out it must have been some bonus episode because I’ve seen all the regular ones. This bothers me even more because now it’s like Normandy on D-Day in the show, and no one’s worried about running out of bullets. Rick’s got a one-man army in Morgan, and Jesus, true to his name and appearance, has officially started acting like an idiot. ()

Szörnyetegek (2017) (S08E03)

angol I gave the third episode a star purely out of nostalgia. I used to enjoy this show, but now it's become a strange mess. It's full of grandiose speeches, repetitive motivational talks, emotional manipulation, and a complete disregard for logic. It's sad to see. ()

Egy senki (2017) (S08E04)

angol Watching Ezekiel shave and button up his shirt was more thrilling than an adrenaline shot. Cue the grandiose speeches, tearful goodbyes, and endless suffering with the limping Rastafarian. I still can’t figure out how they managed to shoot four guys through a ceiling but missed everything in an open field. Maybe Carol should fight blindfolded next time. The star of the episode goes to Rick. Seeing half-inch bullets (12.7 mm for the uninitiated) bounce off his Jeep’s grille was a real treat. And to cap it off, I'll almost quote a well-known animated series: "They pixelated Shiva. You bastards!" ()

Gyónás és félelem (2017) (S08E05)

angol When I decide to watch a show called The Walking Dead, I'm definitely not expecting a theological-philosophical discussion and an episode filled with tedious chatter. Once the endless talking stopped, the action was driven by idiotic characters, making me realize that the previous episode about the complicated acquisition of machine guns was completely pointless. ()

Özvegy és Rick (2017) (S08E06) Boo!

angol Besides being incredibly boring, the episode was also incredibly stupid. If the creators hired any weapon advisors, they wasted their money. Shooting an RPG from three meters away is a terrible idea, and the aftermath nearly made my jaw drop. Once again, logic was nowhere to be found. If a car mustn't leave the garage and I have an RPG, why not just blast it? Because that would be too easy, of course! And don't get me started on the cringe-worthy attempts at tugging on our heartstrings... ()

Most van utána (2017) (S08E07)

angol The eighth season is currently a clear desperation, once again the episode drowned in a lot of unnecessary talking, the storyline with Rick at the Saviors is ridiculously stupid, and the only even slightly more interesting moment was Daryl's action. Even that had to be properly messed up, of course. ()

Ennek így kell lennie (2017) (S08E08)

angol The eighth episode impressed me only by feeling endless. The characters behaved once again according to the script, that is, demented. "Profound" conversations and emotionally intense moments happened again, which really get on my nerves. The fight between idiot Rick and Negan made me laugh. What does Rick actually have that axe on his belt for? Nobody knows. Originally, I rated it with just one star, but I had to add a second one for Carl's finale. Finally!!! :-) ()
