Everyone longs to catch a billionaire – the police, reporters, politicians, artists, ladies and even the clergy. A report is fabricated accusing a successful businessman, Patrik Grossmann, of racism. When the media launches a full-blown campaign against him, the atmosphere gets so thick that anyone can kick him while he’s down just to prove their morality. Grossmann’s demise seems inevitable until he gets an idea: Buy a TV station and get the public opinion on his side. (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

angol A cruel bit of evil in which 3 and ½ actors understand their role and the rest are dragged through a plot so incomprehensible that you or the creator must be on a legal "high." It’s an unnecessarily vulgar and desperately unfunny collection of everything that bothers Vorel about contemporary society, which is riddled with vicious capitalism. This film is by far the worst thing that has been made with the help of the State Fund for the Development of Czech Cinema. Allegedly a "cheeky comedy." It's rude to ask someone to pay admission for this. ()

angol Tomáš Vorel and Martin Nezval were in a bitchy mood, so they decided to mock a few people/groups/institutions. And since they were already at it, they tried to mock absolutely everyone they could think of. The problem is that they do it through a sadly dumb caricature, empty shouts with a story like "we'll sketch out a few characters", and overacting by the actors (someone please kill Miroslav Etzler in the near future). One fried star for the unexpectedly honorable crawling Tomáš Matonoha and the surprisingly cool Jiří Mádl, who understood that he won't come out of this masquerade with a clean reputation, so he at least enjoyed it thoroughly. And a little advice in conclusion: endlessly talking with a pouting expression about corruption and fraud doesn't make it "apt satire". ()

angol Like other Czech films and its directors, Catch the Billionaire alsobuilds on the theme of caricatures of contemporary society. This group of films and directors has always been different - they don't sugarcoat, they don't pander, and they have their own humor and I hope they will continue to do so. And, of course, they limit their offspring to supporting roles. ()

angol Everything, and I mean everything is bad about this film. I wasn't expecting to, but after watching Catch the Billionaire, I'm giving it a Boo! The actors, non-actors, and actor-non-actors, along with the director and screenwriter (if there is one), should first be ashamed and then roast in hell. They put together a lousy film that I really couldn't find anything to improve it, although I tried (at first) to do so. Yuck. ()

angol I don't like this affected acting, it just doesn't suit me. It's exaggerated and in the end, it's not even funny. Tomáš Vorel is trying to draw attention to some societal problems again. He is quite successful in doing so, but he chose a form that simply isn't accessible to everyone, or almost anyone for that matter. Moreover, Vorel went down the path of excessive literalness, which is quite successfully boring. The conclusion is actually about nothing and a person doesn't even know what they should take away from it. It doesn't look good. ()
