Tartalmak(1)

A Cressida Cowell sikerkönyve alapján készült film a melák viking harcosok és vad sárkányok világába röppenti nézőit. A történet középpontjában egy viking tinédzser áll, aki Berk szigetén él, ahol a sárkányokkal való küzdelem a mindennapi élet része. Elérkezik a beavatás ideje, amikor hősünk bizonyíthatja rátermettségét törzsének és apjának. Ám amikor találkozik egy sebesült sárkánnyal, és végül összebarátkozik vele, a kis "sárkányölő" világa a feje tetejére áll. (UIP-Duna Film)

angol I am usually repelled by cute animation films with kids and supernatural animals in the main roles, but this one was great. The story has no surprises, but the animation is captivating and the dialogues are like out of a good sitcom. I laughed more often than with most comedies. I’m giving it 9/10 and wonder what happened with Wall-E, Up and Ratatouille ()

angol I had to check my birth certificate after it was over to make sure I was as old as I was. That’s because I was convinced that I had clearly become slightly effeminate, as I longed, with a tear in my eye, to get my own black dragon, one that spits out the same cannonade as the "plasma gun" from "Doom III" and has such sad rendered eyes that it captured my heart for the entire runtime. It doesn't quite have the perfect animation or storyline, and in a two-dimensional world, it also drags the eyes too much to where the spectacle-wielding cinema-goers were sighing blissfully, but damn... it's got moments that kids won't pick up on, jokes galore, Powell's awesome music, and an apocalyptic finale like something out of a better RPG. 4 ½. angol Leave the little kids at home, take the bigger ones to the cinema and they’ll leave you alone until Christmas. A great adventure flick without annoying cheerful characters, with top action and a dragon that everyone would like to have at home. ()

angol A little environmental ideology doesn't hurt, especially in this (un)fairy tale about finding harmony between the elements. It's very sweet, visually dizzying and has beautiful sound. From the beginning, I didn't like the form of the characters, but the pleasant surprise was that the script and everything else is so well done and tolerably naïve that there was no time for any animosity. For a 2010 production, How to Train Your Dragon is going to very high places. ()

angol A fantastic touching fairy tale that has no weak and really entertains. The greatest gem among cartoons these days. One of those that will bring out the child in you at any age. I liked it very much. ()

angol Even though I was sitting in that movie theatre surrounded by little kids (or their parents), I enjoyed it and didn't find it weird at all that the average age was around 12 because this film is for everyone and you just need to relax a bit and enjoy it. The big plus is that it didn't stop entertaining me even when I had a headache, and you know how it is with attention when something hurts... :-) Funny, the kawai dragon (which has the intelligence, the behavior of a cat and a dog and looks like a frog) and dispensed with the sappy speeches in honor for friendship, understanding, and I don't know what all. Just no pathos and that, when it's not in a US movie, is just awesome... X-D 4+ for sure and without hesitation. ()

angol If I were in my boyhood, I would undoubtedly be thrilled by the dragon spectacle, because the creators have catered to the child audience to the utmost. For an adult, the film does not have a significant impact; it uses motifs that have appeared in a number of past films and is at times overdone and childish, such as when the dragon learns to play with dolls and resembles a cute little rabbit from fairy tales for the youngest children. Also, the logic of the plot, especially in the second half, somewhat lags. However, the action scenes - and there are plenty of them - are breathtaking, the dragons are lively, and there is no shortage of jokes, which certainly do not fall flat throughout the entire runtime. Furthermore, the film can surprise at times, for example, when the hero does not come out of the decisive encounter undamaged. Of course, there are the typical love and parental motifs, and friendship in various forms. Those who have children between the ages of 5-12 should see it with them - it is an ideal choice. Overall impression: 65%. ()

angol A fantasy movie just as I like them best. The main dragon is cute, the action hard-hitting and the music, the music... John Powell gives this wonder a heart and soul. This... is Berk. It snows nine months of the year, and hails the other three. ()

angol I was originally a bit scared of How to Train Your Dragon - I didn't like the dragons in the photos at all. And that includes the main character Toothless. But as soon as he first appeared in the film and I saw his movements and expressions, I fell in love with him. And the other dragons, too. That was the first big plus. Others include the amazing aerial scenes, Powell's music, the humor... Just about everything. Yet isn't it all cliché? So what? ()

angol When confronted with the equally old Toy Story 3, I'll probably always prefer to reach for the toys, but this is another superb and novel animated movie. An excellent idea taken to absolute satisfaction, a story suitable for adults as well as children, with gorgeous visuals that can't leave anyone cold (it's remarkable how much emotion the creators can show in a dragon's face). Of course, there are also a lot of great jokes and I would like to emphasize the excellent soundtrack, which is one of the most beautiful in animated films. The plot is blindly predictable, but the amazing execution overwhelms everything else. 90% ()

angol Another great animated film that wasn’t pretentious and didn't try to fool me into believing that it had a deeper meaning (no, I'm not talking about Anomalisa). It did make me laugh and reminded me that we need to help each other, even between species. Both the animation and the story were great. The older I get, the more enjoy a good animated film. ()

angol This is an animated movie that simply somehow engraves itself into your memory. Lately, I have the feeling that there are quite a few high-quality animated films being made. "How to Train Your Dragon" completely astonishes with some scenes, both in terms of the plot and visually. It's also nice that the second installment is definitely worth watching as well. ()

angol A wonderful story about a special friendship that also has considerable resonance. Of course, it can be seen as a simple narrative where "the son, against his father's expectations, takes a path other than the predetermined one and actually opens everyone's eyes in the end." How to Train Your Dragon offers much more than that. It is, in fact, about a precipitous change in deeply ingrained thinking and beliefs. Here the means to achieve it is an extraordinary interspecies relationship that until now has been considered fundamentally unacceptable. I'm not afraid to say that this is truly one of the best animated films I've seen yet. And the cool thing about it is that it works for all ages. There's something for everyone that grabs them by the heart. ()

angol After having seen it for the fifth time, I'm giving it a five. Why? I give the highest rating to animated movies which are not only entertaining for both children and adults, but are able to say much more than it seems at first glance. How to Train Your Dragon is exactly that. Sure, it’s not perfect, mainly in that the plot is completely predictable, but this animated movie has become one of my personal favorites. I mean, Toothless’s facial expressions will disarm you no matter your age. ()
