A truly unsympathetic lead actor, an undramatic story without any twist or whiff of suspense, unsurprisingly bland characters, surprisingly ordinary music by Eshkeri.... If it weren't for Maggie Smith, who is a joy to see anywhere and anytime, and the lovely Carice van Houten, this would be get one star. An hour and a half hasn't dragged on so terribly in a long time.__Observations P.S. Timothy Spall could play Nick Frost's father in a movie.

From Time to Time looks like a mediocre TV movie, in which I was most impressed by (of course) Maggie Smith and the gorgeous production design. The story itself wasn't bad or even generic, but it just lacked something, something that wouldn't make me look at my watch so often. But I certainly don't regret watching this film. In short, a likeable diversion for a free afternoon that doesn't impress but doesn't annoy either.
