Gasoline is like morphine and gas station attendants are like drug dealers. A colourfully intrusive hidden camera provides a picture of a road-tripping nation. Desire drives motorists onto the road, only to have a jovial employee pump the smell of distance and freedom into their metal guts. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)

angol The hidden satirical camera performed by Jaroslav Štercl disguised as a pumper is really something I had no idea about up to this point. A large number of drivers or their wives recognized Štercl right away ("Don't let him fool you, he's Štercl!"), but that didn't prevent him from making some successfully funny remarks - in fact, it encouraged him to push the envelope even further. And so Štercl, for example, comments on the huge excavator with the words "This would be a satirical device, because when it digs, you can really tell...", he asks the driver of the immensely loaded or rather overlaid car: "Is that for a summer apartment, or are you evacuating? I thought you were on the run from the raging Milešovka..." and so on. ()
