Elisha Cuthbert is Jennifer, a celebrated runway model who leads a relatively lonely life. One night, after being stood up at a club, she's drugged and wakes up much later in an intricately constructed dungeon. The captor is a mysterious presence who has clearly done this before. As time goes on, the taunting and torture reach nearly unbearable proportions. But before she gives up all hope, Jennifer discovers Gary (Daniel Gillies), another victim, who is determined to break them both out of their horrific prison. (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

angol Far from as harsh as the advertising campaign suggested. On the contrary - at times surprisingly gentle and friendly towards the main character. Joffé, in his old age, rests and makes films for pleasure (I don't want to know what this gentleman does in private) and borrowed Elisha as a toy. She has the most thankless role in recent years. To play a blonde locked in a room, screaming hysterically and uttering incomprehensible wisdom. The storyline in isolation is the lesser evil, despite the incredibly predictable basic twist that ruins all the strong moments of the last few tens of minutes. The second storyline with the detectives eventually proves to be a dead end, where everything becomes clear to everyone at first glance and where I can't help but laugh at the nonsensical dialogues. The saving grace is the final half hour, where there is tension, scares, and everything I hoped for. Due to many (really many) logical blunders, absurdities, and mistakes, I can only give it two stars. Without Miss Cuthbert, it would probably be even lower, but with her, I would gladly watch a three-hour adaptation of the theory of developmental psychology. ()
