Reménytelen küldetésében segítségére siet szókimondó barátja, a megrögzött agglegény Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), akinek kelléktárában elegáns öltönyök és betonbiztos csajozási tippek lapulnak. Amikor Ted megismerkedik Robinnal (Cobie Smulders), biztosra veszi: ez szerelem első látásra. Ám a sorsnak más tervei vannak. (FOX)

Nem sürgetlek (2012) (S07E17)

angol I quite enjoyed this episode. Barney's obsessions know no boundaries. The creators are nailing the concept of "frenemies". Super grateful that I've got nobody in my life who would remind me of these folks in any way. / Lesson learned: Privacy is the hottest commodity nowadays. ()

Karma karma (2012) (S07E18)

angol This was the first episode that I actually enjoyed this season. Finally, got some proper laughs with Robin's travel escapades, shoutouts to Misery (1990), Ted's free time activities, and of course, Barney's wit. This episode was finely tuned and practically flawless on the funny scale. / Lesson learned: Protect your ankles. They might crack. ()

A Tesó eskü (2012) (S07E19)

angol I've been racking my brain about how five people who are always throwing shade and invading each other's privacy can even call themselves friends. I mean, if someone's constantly undercutting me, they're not a friend anymore, period. But hey, setting aside the whole "friendship" schtick, it was surprisingly entertaining, even with the usual hiccups. / Lesson learned: You don't pick your family, but you get to pick your friends. ()

Trilógiák (2012) (S07E20)

angol The plot of this episode was completely irrelevant to the main story. No significant humor to bail it out either. Honestly, if I didn't know what "fluff" meant in the context of TV shows, this episode would define it perfectly. / Lesson learned: Planning the future is nice. It keeps the boredom at bay, and you might even have a good laugh later. In the best case scenario. ()

Most már döntetlen (2012) (S07E21)

angol Well, I can't say that this episode filled me with enthusiasm, but it wasn't a disaster either. It entertained me within its limits. The creators did not even come close to the quality of the first season although they could still have achieved it with a little effort. / Lesson learned: If it's none of your business, don't pry. ()

A mágus kódexe (1. rész) (2012) (S07E23)

angol So, the second-to-last episode of the season wasn't exactly perfect – not even close. But I did like Robin's storyline, which rarely happens. Barney and Marshall held their own too, with their wild Atlantic City adventure, and who would expect Yoda to make a surprise appearance in a casino? Didn't see that coming. / Lesson learned: I'd leave childbirth to the experts. ()

A mágus kódexe (2. rész) (2012) (S07E24)

angol So, the latest episode took a bit of a dip in quality compared to the last one. It felt like they threw all these past relationships into a blender, and forgot to add some humor. If it weren't for Barney's trip to Hawaii, I'd probably given a star less. Guess I shouldn't be holding out for anything amazing from this series anymore. / Lesson learned: Not all codes are created equal. ()

Season 8 (2012) (S08)

angol I'm dreading Season 9, because Season 8 was the weakest one so far. Sure, it had its bright moments, but they were few and far between, while an increasing number of episodes warranted a boo! rating. I suppose the writers' helplessness stemmed from a lack of invention. They may have been going through a burnout after seven seasons. But who knows? / Lesson learned: Don't recycle old ideas, you’ll never get away with it. ()

Farhampton (2012) (S08E01)

angol So, the introduction to the eighth season wasn't the disaster I thought it might be. If the creators had polished it a bit more, I might have given it a higher rating. The first episode had some good laughs here and there (Marshall and Lily aquarium scene), and the creators balanced it out with the more serious stuff without making it sound cheesy. / Lesson learned: Keeping a secret is no walk in the park. ()

Házassági szerződés (2012) (S08E02)

angol So, the kick-off of the eighth season got me all hopeful, thinking the creators finally got their act together and learned from past mistakes. But no, episode two just carried on with the same mediocrity from the previous seasons. Aside from a detailed prenuptial agreement, there wasn't anything funny going on. And it just solidified my belief that Ted is a lost cause, someone should put an end to his misery. / Lesson learned: Don't toss a baby more than three meters away. This will minimize damage to your household items. ()

Dadagondok (2012) (S08E03)

angol A tad better than the last episode, but it didn't exactly blow my mind. The humor was still seriously lacking. What bugs me is how the creators keep trying to mess with our emotions. They're not even good at it. Feels like I'm watching one of those sappy news stories on TV with all that emotional music and somber delivery, practically forcing you to shed a tear. / Lesson learned: Trying to prove something to your ex? Why bother? ()

Legyen Ön is keresztszülő! (2012) (S08E04)

angol Ugh, the fourth episode brought in one of those super annoying couples with a newborn. All they can talk about is their precious bundle of joy, which makes every encounter with people like this pure torture. While I get that it's their life project, I won't pretend to be interested and prefer to keep myself as far away from these couples as possible. / Lesson learned: Lost the custody battle? Congrats! ()

Szakítások ősze (2012) (S08E05) Boo!

angol What in the world was that? Now, I'm genuinely unsure if the creators are pulling a fast one on the viewers or if they're serious. Humor? Zero. Zilch. Nada. The characters morphed into caricatures of themselves, and another resurrected relationship took a nosedive back into the abyss. What a shocker! But in all seriousness, this was utter garbage, dominated by the dog and Marshall's quest to find his inner goddess. / Lesson learned: Before finding your inner goddess, hand in your testicles. ()

Szívtörő (2012) (S08E06)

angol Positives: the dog was gone, Marshall did not search for his inner goddess. It's a bit sad that these are the highlights. The sixth episode fell into the same pit of uninteresting plotlines as many before it. Yet another breakup was tackled, and while the whole lack-of-sex thing could've been funny, it's getting repetitive, so it didn't really earn any points either.  / Lesson learned: Feeling horny? Try pushups. ()

Ajánlom magamat! (2012) (S08E07) Boo!

angol The creators seamlessly continued their streak from the previous episode, offering a plot that had almost no ties to the main storyline and, honestly, zero laughs for me. I found myself wondering why they even bothered. I could only come up with one plausible explanation. It feels like even the writers themselves are no longer fond of their creation. It's like they're churning out episodes solely to make viewers disgusted with the characters. And, well, it's working on me. / Lesson learned: If you've made it this far, it might be time to call it quits. ()

12 tüzes asszony (2012) (S08E08) Boo!

angol The creators once again tossed aside everything that made me love this series. Instead, we got another episode with next to no ties to the main storyline, and like the ones before it, it didn't deliver any decent laughs. The trial felt completely unnecessary, and comparing criminal pasts? Yeah, I wasn't impressed. / Lesson learned: Thinking about changing the world? Maybe start with something smaller. ()

Vágyom egy homár után (2012) (S08E09) Boo!

angol This is just plain awful. You know, when I see a little kid plucking petals off a daisy, doing the whole "He/she loves me. He/she loves me not." routine, it comes off as cute. But if I catch thirty-year-olds doing the same thing, it's not amusing at all. If I find it cute, you might as well take me out and put me down. A terrible episode. / Lesson learned: If you're over twenty-five, time to level up mentally. ()

A ló túloldalán (2012) (S08E10)

angol At last, an episode that was kind of pointless, but at least it gave me a chuckle. Only a tiny one, though. The episode was on the weak side, but the whole concept of borrowing Ted's stuff did salvage it to some extent. I can totally picture the frustration of lending something out with a neat tag on each piece and not getting it back. The notion of an unreturned label maker even got a legit laugh out of me. / Lesson learned: If they won't return your stuff, punish them with a 1*+. ()

Az utolsó oldal - 1. rész (2012) (S08E11)

angol I won't pretend that I didn't notice an improvement, but on the other hand, I won't pretend that I was satisfied. The whole Barney's curse angle was cool, giving me a reason to bump up the rating a bit compared to the earlier episodes. However, the creators' attempt at another moral lesson left me unimpressed. Their efforts felt pathetic; someone hitting me with the revelation that I should start with myself if I don't like something about others doesn't exactly qualify as groundbreaking philosophy. It also felt like the writers assumed we were all suffering from collective memory loss, implying Robin's main beef with Patricia is her relationship with Barney, even though she was yelling at her long before that. Moralizing on shaky grounds? Yeah, it's just plain cheap. / Lesson learned: When you've got the skills, you can bend facts to suit your needs. ()

Az utolsó oldal (második rész) (2012) (S08E12) Boo!

angol Here we go again. What the creators have dished out many times before made a comeback. I'm getting sick of Robin's relationships — they're like a Gatling gun, firing off the same rounds over and over again, just switch the ammo belt, and repeat. And if it wasn't bad enough, I also got treated to an oh-so-funny storyline with the kid. / Lesson learned: Feeling romantic? The rooftop of a skyscraper gives you two options. ()
