An excellent movie that parodies and pushes to the extreme all the clichés of sports movies, and others as well. All the twists and turns, the behavior of the character, the resurrections, the reunions, the friendships, the fights, not to mention the baseball... The movie gets more and more extreme and absurd as time goes on. Anyone who takes it seriously and who doesn't like absurdist humor won't enjoy it, but if you approach it the way the film approaches itself, you will. It’s one of the better pieces in its bracket.

Do not expect great art from this film, just be prepared for the fact that there are specific rules here that you may accept or not accept. And these are just the rules of what is possible and what is not. For me, this is entertainment and I somehow find that the Japanese are quite close to me with their strange mentality and sense of humor. This is like a crazy children's show, just in a really rough and sometimes even horror-like guise, but it's still fun.
