Le Mystère de l'Homme de Denisova

During excavations in Siberia in 2008, a team of archaeologists uncovered what looked like a small human bone. But genetic tests carried out on the specimen revealed something very surprising: the bone did, indeed, belong to a prehistoric individual. But it was not a Homo Sapiens, or even a Neanderthal. It belonged to a third human species that had never been seen before. The scientists named it “Denisova” after the cave in which the bone was found.
