Abang Adik

The film depicts the story of two siblings which are native Malaysians, living in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, but they do not own ID cards. Pudu used to be known for its old wet market since long ago, with its prosperous community living together. However, the situation has now changed. Both Abang and Adi face many challenges due to not having the ID cards, which includes living with no rights as ordinary citizens and the situation prohibits them from applying for passports and bank accounts. Abang, the older brother, was born mute and his only goal in life is to work hard for a much stable life. Adi, on the other hand, is unwilling to give in to his fate and becomes involved in selling fake IDs, aiming to make fast money to flee away from this place with Abang. They are eventually helped by Jin En, a social worker from an NGO, that assists them in obtaining their IDs legally. As fate has it, Jin En is involved in a fatal accident that leaves Abang and Adi back in the same situation. (Asean+3 Film Festival)
