A million dollars stolen from a Las Vegas casino and a trail of bodies -- these seemingly unlinked events set the backdrop for this weird tale. An excellent atmospheric road movie, in many ways even better and more interesting than the more famous Hitcher. Endless desert roads lined with only a few abandoned motels, properly bleak cinematography and minimalist production design that relies solely on the performances of the two leading actors. And all this wrapped in an interesting theme of a mass murderer and a "rich" robber. Eric Roberts clearly enjoys his psychopathic role, but, as usual, it's the traditionally charismatic Henriksen who dominates the film as an actor and is also given more space. A small, but proper thriller with capital T. 80%
