Genbaku no ko

The very first Japanese film dealing with the sensitive topic of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. It presents a report-style portrait of the life in the city seven years after the tragedy. This touching film is based on the stories of child-survivors and prefigures the humanistic and social appeal of Kaneto Shindô's production in the 1950s. (Summer Film School)
