August Frommer is an inventor. He has dedicated his entire life to a fantastic idea: to construct the perfect machine, the perpetuum mobile, which, once in motion, never ceases to move. Despite all theories of physics, at age 80 he still believes in the dream of his youth. Like Sisyphus, however, he faces new obstacles again and again. The film describes a life full of privation.
